Work & Experience
Assist with and carry out a range of research with both external and internal scientists to advance station priorities. This includes literature reviews (stand alone and as part of research projects), survey design & implementation, data entry/cleaning/analysis, and producing written deliverables in the form of informal and formal reports and scientific manuscripts.
Provide social science support to the NGO. Develop surveys to assess attitudes towards a mangrove project and shark meat consumption. Clean and analyse existing survey data and prepare reports for the executive director to show results and highlight key findings & implication.s
My initial contract as a volunteer was to take previously collected data and write a scientific manuscript after analysing the results. My contract was extended twice due to my experience and I was asked to manage a national study on the role of women in small-scale fisheries.
