Job Summary
The Head of Customer Engineering III, SAISV, is a senior leadership role responsible for leading high-impact Customer Engineering teams that support Google Cloud’s largest and most strategic industry and vertical customers. This role drives technical strategy, solution excellence, and customer success by aligning Google Cloud technologies with complex enterprise business needs. The position plays a critical role in accelerating cloud adoption, driving revenue growth, and ensuring long-term customer value.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and scale Customer Engineering teams supporting strategic and industry-focused enterprise customers
- Define and execute technical engagement strategies aligned with Google Cloud’s go-to-market objectives
- Partner closely with Sales, Product, Professional Services, and Partner teams to deliver end-to-end customer solutions
- Serve as an executive technical advisor to C-level stakeholders at customer organizations
- Drive architecture excellence across cloud infrastructure, data & analytics, AI/ML, security, and application modernization
- Ensure successful delivery of proofs of concept (POCs), pilots, and large-scale cloud transformations
- Establish best practices for solution design, technical governance, and customer engagement
- Develop talent through coaching, mentoring, and performance management of senior engineers and managers
- Influence product roadmap by providing customer and industry feedback to Google Cloud product teams
- Own technical customer success metrics including adoption, satisfaction, and solution impact
Leadership & Strategy
- Build high-performing, diverse Customer Engineering organizations
- Set technical vision aligned with industry-specific challenges and opportunities
- Drive cross-regional collaboration and knowledge sharing
- Support strategic deal reviews and complex commercial engagements
- Act as an evangelist for Google Cloud technologies and industry solutions
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 12+ years of experience in cloud architecture, enterprise IT, or technology consulting
- 7+ years of people leadership experience managing senior technical teams
- Proven experience engaging with large enterprise and regulated industry customers
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or MBA
- Deep expertise in cloud platforms (Google Cloud preferred)
- Strong background in one or more verticals (Financial Services, Healthcare, Retail, Manufacturing, Public Sector, etc.)
- Experience with AI/ML, data platforms, security, and large-scale distributed systems
- Demonstrated ability to influence executive stakeholders and drive transformation initiatives
