Focus in anthropology, sociology, and political science | Human Development & Family Studies is the study of the biological, psychological, and social development of individuals across the lifespan and the dynamics of family systems. It focuses on how family, community, and societal factors influence growth and relationships while integrating theory and research to understand and support individuals and families in diverse contexts.

Work & Experience
I instruct first-year students on the social and situated nature of research writing, emphasizing their connections to purpose, audience, community, and context. I am responsible for developing curriculum and syllabi in alignment with the University’s educational student outcomes. I assess composition projects, maintain digital course environments, and provide student coaching. Adept at teaching diverse student populations with culturally relevant pedagogies.
I performed data analysis, specializing in qualitative analysis and student satisfaction evaluation. I am skilled in creating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for quality improvement (QI) and sharing findings through reports, white papers, and visualizations. Collaborates with faculty to enhance medical student education, using both quantitative and qualitative methods.
This fellowship was awarded as part of a project with the Cornell Gender Justice Clinic and community organizations to examine the experience of exclusion by financial technology. This has resulted the working paper currently known as “Material Marginalization: Financial Tech’s Facilitation of Discrimination Against People in Adult Industries.” In this role, I sharpened my statistical analysis skills and added R and MaxQDA to my repertoire of data software knowledge.
I engaged community partners in capacity building and continuous improvement (CI) initiatives within Pima County. I analyzed and presented educational and equity data for community partners, and informed strategies for equitable workforce and education attainment. I conducted community and policy research to support these efforts through a Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) model. I became proficient in data visualization and data storytelling techniques.
