I am an Assistant Professor of Environmental Science at Addis Ababa University, actively engaged in teaching, research, and academic leadership. I hold a Ph.D. in Bioscience Engineering from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL), Belgium, and an M.Sc. in Environmental Science from Addis Ababa University. My research focuses on ecosystem services, sustainable land management, urban ecology, climate change adaptation, and the socio-ecological dimensions of environmental change.

In my administrative roles, I serve as the Postgraduate Students Coordinator at the Centre for Environmental Science and as the Demand Driven Action Research (DDAR) Coordinator at the Horn of Africa Environment Regional Centre. I support postgraduate students and researchers in proposal development, facilitate research publications, and coordinate the dissemination of evidence-based policy briefs.

I have led and participated in numerous research and consultancy projects funded by Addis Ababa University, GIZ, AGRA, and UNDP. My work emphasizes integrating gender and social inclusion into environmental programming, demonstrated through my role as a Gender and Safeguard Specialist for a UNDP project and my delivery of a Training of Trainers (ToT) on Mainstreaming Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) in Climate Finance and Climate Adaptation Activities for government experts.

I have joined the Resonance Lab as a Core Researcher on the Climate and Energy team, focusing on AI-driven sustainable solutions for the energy sector. I am also a recipient of the prestigious Three Cairns Climate Scholarship for the Urban Climate Leadership Program at Yale University. I have published eleven peer-reviewed articles and am an active member of professional organizations, including the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD). I also serve as a reviewer for journals such as Sustainability and Forests.
