Work & Experience
Key Responsibilities: 1. Teaching and Learning Delivering high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in assigned modules (Entrepreneurship, Business Management, Marketing, and Strategic Management). Developing, reviewing, and updating curricula in alignment with institutional and national academic standards. Applying innovative pedagogical approaches and integrate technology in teaching. Conducting assessments and providing timely feedback to students. 2. Research Supervision and Scholarship Supervising research projects and theses at Honours, Master’s, and PhD levels. Mentoring emerging researchers and foster scholarly excellence. Publishing in accredited, peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences. Engaging in interdisciplinary research that contributes to the institution’s strategic goals. 3. Academic Leadership and Governance Participating in departmental and faculty committees related to academic planning and quality assurance. Contributing to the formulation and implementation of academic policies and procedures. Providing academic mentorship to colleagues and contribute to staff development initiatives. 4. Board Membership – UFS Governance Serving as a member of the University of the Free State Board, contributing to strategic oversight and governance. Representing the academic voice in institutional planning, policy review, and fiduciary matters. Engaging in high-level decision-making processes affecting the university’s long-term development. Upholding the university’s values and ensuring alignment with national higher education objectives. 5. Community Engagement and Institutional Representation Participating in university outreach and community engagement programmes. Building partnerships with industry, government, and academic networks to enhance institutional visibility.
Key Responsibilities: 1. Program Management and Coordination Overseeing the planning, implementation, and review of the MBA program curriculum. Coordinating academic calendars, timetables, and module offerings in collaboration with faculty. Ensuring compliance with quality assurance and accreditation standards (e.g., CHE, AMBA, AACSB). Managing part-time and full-time MBA formats, including online or hybrid delivery. 2. Stakeholder Engagement Liaising with academic staff, external lecturers, industry partners, and professional bodies. Serving as the primary point of contact for MBA students regarding academic and administrative matters. Facilitating student support services, including orientation, academic advising, and career development. 3. Marketing and Recruitment Collaborating with marketing and admissions teams to promote the MBA program locally and internationally. Participating in recruitment events, open days, and corporate partnerships to attract high-calibre applicants. 4. Financial and Operational Oversight Assisting in budgeting and financial planning for the program. Manage contracts and payments for visiting lecturers and service providers. Monitoring enrollment targets, student performance, and graduation rates. 5. Alumni and Industry Relations Maintaining strong relationships with MBA alumni and industry stakeholders. Organizing networking events, guest lectures, and executive workshops. 6. Strategic Planning and Reporting Contributing to the strategic development of the business school’s postgraduate offerings. Compiling reports, statistics, and evaluations for accreditation bodies and internal review.
