Job Description:
We are hiring a skilled and experienced API Developer to design, build, and maintain robust and scalable APIs that connect systems, applications, and third-party services. The ideal candidate should have a strong grasp of modern development tools, RESTful architecture, and security best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and SOAP APIs to support web and mobile applications
- Integrate external and internal systems using API gateways and microservices architecture
- Collaborate with frontend and backend teams to define and implement API specifications and data models
- Optimize API performance, scalability, and reliability
- Ensure secure transmission and storage of data using OAuth2, JWT, and API security protocols
- Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code
- Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices across the team
- Monitor and troubleshoot API performance issues
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends in API development and integration
- Create and maintain API documentation for internal and external stakeholders
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an API Developer or Backend Developer
- Strong knowledge of programming languages like Node.js, Python, Java, or PHP
- Hands-on experience with API design tools such as Swagger/OpenAPI
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git)
- Excellent understanding of data formats such as JSON and XML
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
