The General Manager (GM) of Industries is responsible for leading, managing, and overseeing all industrial operations within the organization. The GM develops and implements business strategies to achieve sustainable growth, operational excellence, profitability, and compliance with safety and environmental standards. This role plays a pivotal part in strategic planning, operational execution, and team leadership across multiple industrial units or manufacturing sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for industrial operations, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and goals.
- Develop and execute production plans to meet customer demand while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee daily plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, supply chain, and logistics.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive productivity, profitability, and continuous improvement.
- Foster a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditure projects to ensure optimal use of resources.
- Lead, motivate, and develop cross-functional teams, promoting a high-performance and collaborative work environment.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, clients, government authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Identify new business opportunities, potential partnerships, and technology improvements to enhance competitiveness.
- Prepare and present operational reports and performance metrics to the CEO and Board.
- Drive sustainability and innovation initiatives within industrial operations.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, or large-scale production environments.
- Proven track record of managing multi-site or large industrial facilities.
- Strong understanding of production processes, supply chain management, quality assurance, and industrial safety standards.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and cost controls.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to lead change and drive operational excellence initiatives.
