We are looking for an accomplished and visionary Head of Mechanical Engineering to lead our mechanical engineering division. This senior leadership role requires deep technical expertise, exceptional people management skills, and the strategic insight to drive innovation and operational excellence across all mechanical engineering projects.
The successful candidate will oversee the planning, design, development, and execution of complex mechanical systems and products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensure compliance with industry standards, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the mechanical engineering department, setting clear objectives and performance standards for the team.
- Develop and implement strategies to advance mechanical design, innovation, and product development processes.
- Oversee the full project lifecycle, including design reviews, feasibility studies, prototyping, testing, and production.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and quality assurance protocols.
- Collaborate with R&D, production, and project management teams to align engineering solutions with overall business goals.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, encouraging professional growth and knowledge sharing.
- Manage departmental budgets, resources, and timelines effectively to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
- Evaluate new tools, technologies, and methodologies to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge in the market.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and with key stakeholders to promote engineering excellence and innovation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; relevant certifications or an MBA are a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership or managerial role.
- Proven track record of successfully leading complex engineering projects and cross-functional teams.
- Deep understanding of mechanical systems design, manufacturing processes, and industry standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented approach to project delivery.
- Familiarity with modern engineering software, CAD tools, and simulation platforms.
- Commitment to fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
